Hi everyone! 

I wanted to tell you all a little about me and how I became interested in scrapbooking.  When I graduated high school my grandmother, Grammy, gave me a scrapbook she had kept for me with all the news clippings, pictures and memorobilia she had collected through the years.  I remember feeling really special when she gave it to me.  I tucked it away and added bits and pieces here and there. 

 

After I had my first son, a friend showed me the scrapbook she was making for her daughter.  It reminded me of that book I had stored away years earlier and how it made me feel.  I knew right then that scrapbooking was in my future. 

 

Not too long after this, I was invited to my first Close To My Heart party, back then it was called D.O.T.S.  I remember watching as the consultant used a special ink and some powder then heated it up with a heat gun and embossed an image on the paper.  WOW, I thought that was the most amazing technique!!  I joined her monthly club and was inspired everytime I went.  Sometimes, I couldn't go to sleep because I was so excited about what I had learned, I just had to go make something. 

 

After about 4 years in the group, a good friend of mine was going to sign up as a consultant and go to the national convention the company hosts once a year to release the new idea book and products.  I wasn't about to let her see that catalog before me, so I joined as well.  We had a wonderful time at convention and met a lot of very talented women.

 

I still love to attend those conventions, but my most favorite thing getting together with friends to scrapbook and visit.  There is always a lot of laughing and sharing.  I love it!!
